The Motorcycle MPG Champs
 
Has the price of gasoline got you looking for an economy bike? The below list may have what you are looking for. We are starting with 200cc class bikes, as they are the smallest you should ever drive on a fast expressway. We have collected this data from road test, online fourms, and our own personal experience. The highway MPG shown is an educated estimate driving 55 MPH on a quiet road with very few stops. Scooters are not included as they are for sissy types. (hahaha) Really, this list is for 2007-2008 motorcycles only. This is a guide only. Your actual gas mileage may differ. A brand new bike will not get good gas mileage until after it is broke-in.
The dream commuter bike: A high quality Chinese knockoff of the 1973 Honda CB350 with modern suspension and brakes. This CB350 would be easy to ride, with electric start, single carb, good lights, low seat height, 100 mph top speed, 70 mpg, and $3000 retail price. This was Honda's most popular bike of all time. If there was a knockoff, I would buy one.
Note: There are over 20 brands imported from China we did not list. Lifan and Zongshen are the only examples we are listing from China because the quality compares to Japanese bikes.
